We are sorry to say that Jan, my mother and founder of this website, recently passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Jan enjoyed working on this website and helping others, and you may be interested to know the following background about her and our website:
In 2004 Jan started a web-based group for expats in the Cuidad Quesada area in Spain for a small group of friends and residents, where they could discuss living in the new development within the area and share ideas. At the time, there was limited information and help online for people in their position, and excited by the thought of reaching more people in similar situations, Jan started the www.talkquesada.com website in 2011 with the aim of creating a friendly and informative place for people to visit for everything to do with Quesada. This friendly online community has since grown considerably, as today it stands at nearly 12,000 members.
Based on the success of Jan’s Quesada website, she then started more websites covering other areas in Spain, as well as a website for the UK. After all of Jan’s hard work, she has gained nearly 100,000 members in total across all the websites.
Jan loved nothing more than helping people find useful information that she wished she could have found herself when she first thought about living in Spain and buying a property there.
Please feel free to share your thoughts and thanks to Jan for any help she may have given you over the years, either personally or through the help her websites have provided. Or if you’re new to the site hopefully you will find Jan’s experience and legacy helpful to you. We will continue Jan’s work keeping the website up to date, encouraging discussions and exchanging useful information.
We have also set up a Just Giving page in memory of Jan, to help raise money for the Princess Alice Hospice, in the UK, which cared for her so kindly during her final days. Princess Alice Hospice rely on donations and fundraising to keep going, and provide a wonderful service for those who need it. Here is the link if you wish to kindly donate:

I will be carrying on Jan's websites in her memory as this is what she would have wanted. For the moment please bear with me while we get up to speed on everything.
Thank you,
Alex
