Meals at the Gate is a new and exciting project that has been established to provide over 65’s with the opportunity to live independently in their own homes. By using an army of volunteers and a very talented chef, we can promote positive wellbeing and provide nutritious fresh meals delivered to your door.

Key points

·  Meals are available Monday to Friday

·  Meals will be delivered chilled between 10-11.30am

·  You may increase or decrease your number of days at anytime

·  Menu orders must be into us on a Wednesday morning of the week before, you can email, hand a volunteer your order or we can arrange for a friendly volunteer to call you by phone. Three course meals are £5.00

·  Various volunteers will deliver your meal each day, which may result in the time of delivery varying a little

·  You will be charged for meals that are ordered and undeliverable

·  All changes and cancellations must be done before 11am the day before the scheduled meal. If you do not cancel by 11am you will be charged

·  Volunteers will only attempt to deliver once and will not leave a meal at your door. You can choose, if you will not be home, to leave a meal with a neighbour

·  Meal delivery is also a wellbeing check. We will follow a not at home procedure by calling your emergency contact and, if necessary, the police

·  You will receive a monthly calendar detailing the months menu

·  Our meals are served in vessels which are safe for, freezing, refrigerating, microwaving and are 100% compostable.

·  All meals are microwavable only. Heating instructions will be listed on the label of each meal.

·  Clients are billed monthly.

·  Payments can be made via standing order or in person at your property. If you decide to pay by card or cash in person at your home, you will know who will be collecting the payment and when, before they arrive. The volunteer will have a password and photographic ID.

·   Registration will allow for you to give us detailed information about your dietary requirements, these can be amended at any point.

·  We want to know your feedback, complete our satisfaction cards and return as often as you can.
