NEW TOWN CENTRE?

Following on from the recent 'Your Ashford' consultation Surrey Planners have produced interesting ideas on what a new town centre here could look like. Key principles are:-
* A flexible framework that rethinks Church Road as a series of squares, with placemaking zones for new activities.
* Flexibility round crossings, placemaking spaces and street design.
* Safer more enticing and welcoming.
Obviously these are just 'opening shots' and there will certainly be full public consultation on whatever is eventually decided.
A group of local 'Stakeholders' is meeting regularly with the Planners to refine the plans.
