Hi, I am researching a Peters family from Benwick for my sister in law. I am interested in Frederick Peters Born Benwick 1856. He lived with Alice Selina Rowell and had quite a few children with her although not married. Her father was Walter Rowell Born benwick 1909 a son of Frederick Peters. She never met her father so now wants to find out more about him and possibly a photo.
Hope you can help
Sue

Hi sue68
I'm afraid that I don't have any information about Frederick Peters. The Frederick Peters in my tree has parents William Peters and Elizabeth Glover (later Shepperson).
If I can help you with anything else please let me know.

Hi sue68
I'm just going through Ancestry.co.uk to find out any information about Frederick Peters. Frederick is my 1st cousin 3 x removed on my mothers side.
If you would like a list of where he lived and occupations since birth, then please let me know.
Thank you

Hi
Did William and Elizabeth have a son called Frederick Peters? I am trying to trace Frederick's parents. i did wonder if William and Elizabeth were his parents. That"s who I am looking for at the moment. Frederick was born in 1856. I see there is a baptism at Benwick for a Frederick Peters son of William and Elizabeth July 26 1868. A bit late for a baptism but sometimes a whole family was Baptised in one go so not all babies. Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks again
Sue

Hi sue68
You have the right Frederick Peters, parents William Peters born 1815 Benwick, Elizabeth Glover born 1816 Benwick.
If you want to go further back, then William's parents are William Peters born 1786 Fen Stanton, Huntingdonshire, mother Ann Arnold born 1794 Benwick, William 1786 parents William Peters 1744 Dry Drayton, Cambridgeshire, mother Elizabeth Johnson 1756 Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire, William Peters 1744 parents, John Peters 1713 Dry Drayton, mother Mary French 1716 Comberton, Cambridgeshire.
That's as far as I've got at the moment. If you require any more info please feel free to ask.

Hi sue68
What year was your sister in law born?
She is 73 or 74 i think!. Her mum was Kathleen Daisy Hall she didn"t want to marry Walter Rowell so bought her daughtrer up alone. She only was told her fathers name just before her mum died. Walter Rowell was the son of Frederick Peters and Alice Selina Rowell his housekeeper who had quite a few children by Frederick.. I wondered if he was married to someone else as they never married and he was quite a few years older than Alice. The plot thickens! She would really like to know about him as she has no idea what he did for a job etc. She would love a photo. We know before he died he lived at East Street Huntingdon. He died Feb 1980.
Thanks Sue

Frederick was married twice and was living with Alice Selina Rowell whilst still married to his second wife. In the 1911 census it shows that Sarah Jane Peters and Frederick were living in seperate houses in Benwick.
Frederick was a shoe makers appentice in the 1871 census, a butcher in the 1881 census then spent the rest of his life as an agricultural labourer. He lived in Benwick all through the census records and even died there. You'll find him in the Benwick cemetary along with all the Peters.
Frederick's first wife wasd Kezia Murfitt Porter. They had 8 children. He didn't have any with Sarah Jane Oliver.

In the 1939 census records William Rowell is living at Hill Farm, Huntingdon. He is a Farm Horse Keeper. The records for the rest of the household are officially closed. It states that he is married but the family names have been blanked out.
