What is Chilham like as a horse riding area?

I am looking to move house from a village on the outskirts of Ashford, but I need somewhere that has good horse riding, especially for hacking i.e. bridleways/byways or even just good countryside road network with not too busy roads. I put out the question where in Kent is good for this activity on Kent Equestrian website and Chilham was one of the suggested areas. I wonder if those horsey people in the area could advise me in this regard, also if the area is good, which livery yards are good in the area?
Alternatively, anywhere else in the Canterbury area - recommendations welcome?
