I would love to hear from anyone who knew/knows Moira Eadie, born 8 July 1948 in Glasgow. Her parents were David Robertson Eadie and Catherine (nee Young) who married in 1940 and they lived at 160 Gourlay Street when Moira was a baby. David worked as a machineman at the North British Locomotive Works at Hydepark, although he had previously worked for the Prudential Assurance Company. The family moved to 10 Pitmilly Road, Drumchapel about 1957 and I believe Moira was married in Drumchapel about 1970.

Many thanks

Hi Jan

My name is Dougie Young and I am a cousin of Moira. I lost touch with Moira many years ago and I believe the last time I saw her was at her mother's funeral, my Aunt Cathie's, back in 1993. My mother and Cathie were sisters from a family of eleven: Cathie being the eldest and my mother second youngest. Obviously, I'm from the younger generation of all the cousins and missed out on weddings, social events etc. of the older generation including Moira's wedding. I believe she married a guy named McPherson who was a painter and decorator.

I vaguely remember Pitmilly Road but remember my Aunt Cathie living in Kilcloy Ave. Drumchapel before she was diagnosed with dementia and spent the remainder of her days in hospital.

My mother made enquiries about Moira a number of years ago and she told me Moira was living in Greece. My mother is now 88 and suffers from dementia so there is no way of verifying this.

I am interested to know where and when Moira was last seen and hoping that someone on this forum may be able to furnish me with information to this end.

Thanks   Dougie Young

I was a friend of Moira Eddie. I lived at 8 Pitmilly Road. I remember wonderful holidays in Newton with Moira and her Mum and Dad, they had a double decker bus which was fitted out very well. I hope she is well and I would love to know how she is doing.  I also remember Alan Peel, Margaret Duncan and Patricia Wren who were also my friends.
