Lewis family of Gladestry /Hengoed
Hello, I am researching my mothers ancestors. They lived in Gladestry/Hengoed from possibly the 1500's up until approximately 1900. The main surname of which I am interested is Lewis. However, other families of interest are the Davies; Hobby; Evans Prichard and Burgoyne families of Gladestry,...the Probert family of Colva, ... the Barnett and Thomas families of Huntington...and the Davies family of Dorstone.
The Lewis family were farmers for several generations at the Hengoed and also lived at Stone House in Gladestry. The families were all closely linked through marriage and were active participants in the life of the villages.
I am also interested in the James family of Kington.
I would love to hear from anyone who is possibly linked to any of these surnames and has family history interests in these villages.
