Post Office
We are losing our post office, it is closing down. This is a tragedy for Hodnet and the surrounding areas. We will now have to do a round trip of fourteen miles to Market Drayton. Whilst this is possible for people with transport I am very concerned for the elderly and people without cars who need this invaluable resource. The post office within Hodnet stores is a lifeline for some people. I think it’s a short sighted decision as people who use the post office also pick up shopping in Hodnet stores at the same time. Will this mean that in time to come we will lose the shop as well? Cannot quite understand it as whenever I go into the store people are using the post office facilities, so it’s not a case of use or lose it, it’s a case of use and still lose it. It will be a sad day for Hodnet and other areas when it goes.
