We have recently been for a short break on Mull and decided our hearts belong there! We have been to many places in Scotland but Mull has really captured our hearts. We would love to be able to make the move there but we are unsure what we would have in terms of options for work.  Currently I am a stay at home mother and have been for the last 14 years. I would like this to remain the same, I don't want to miss out on any time with my children. My partner works full time as a Principal Electronics Power Engineer for a large Ministry of Defence firm. We own a 4 bedroom home in Fife. We have 4 children. 3 daughters who are 13, 11 and 9 and our son who has just turned 2. We would be prepared to rent or to buy property. Currently my parenter earns £70000pa. We would be prepared to take a drop in salary as long as we could afford the basics for us to get by. My partner is also very good at general jobs with gardening, plumbing, electrical work and glazing.  Can anyone advise what life is like for children on the island and what my partners potential employment prospects could be? We couldn't commit to buying a new property without proof of ongoing income. Thanks so much!

My favourite place I envy you,My wife & I took our two young children to mull around 10 years ago, we rented a house for a week in Tobermory. I’m  bought up & raised in London but loved Mull. My favourite had to be Calgary Bay…. It’s like the Caribbean (but colder & windier!) Most of all I loved the innocence of Mull. Beautiful place!
