Hello to all & thanks for letting me join your local forum. My husband & I currently live & work in Lancashire. We're hoping to retire next year & would like to move somewhere different so we can be mortgage free. I've seen several properties in Lynemouth that look very promising but have seen quite a few posts on the web that indicate there is a problem with ASB and petty crime in the area. I would be really grateful if any local people would take the time to give an honest opinion on whether a move to your village would be a good or bad thing. Hoping I get lots of positive replies as it looks a really pretty village!

weve just moved into Lynemouth 2 weeks ago from the Right side of the penines!!!  House prices very good value.                              We looked on police web about crime and it was just stuff like teenages hanging about cos theres nothing to do just like at home (sheffield /tinsley) since theres no youth clubs etc. Just secure your garden as well as you can and we have a large dog anyway. Get one if you havent cos its a brilliant place for dogs and everyones got one. Its a friendly doggie community and the availability of walks and closeness to the beach is fab.                                                                                                                                                                                The car insurance hasnt changed  so that proves its not a big deal. We are using quite a few local trades people to get jobs done and they are very accomodating and right on it very quickly.                                                                                                                                          The difference in the noise level is amaising. We are at alottment side of village and its all birds and gentle whooshing from wind turbines with the occasional chicken, goose and duck noise. 3 miles/5 min drive to Creswell beach with fab cafe. 10mins to 23 hr Asda, Aldi,Lidle.   Hope this helps ...come and visit.. Lived in lynemouth 10 years or so. Villagers say good morning and are pleasant. Where on earth is there no no petty crime. My opinion only.  lynemouth is every bit as good a any place in uk. A mile or so from the the most beautiful beach in uk. Cycle tracks? Walks etc. We have retired here and more than pleased. Hope this helps. Richie
