What do people think will stop people using their mobile phones while driving. My radical proposals are:-

1 Impose a ban on the person concerned for 2 years.

2 Have their car crushed immediately.

3 impose a £1000 fine.

4 and have 6 points put on their licence.

Having witnessed first hand what happens when someone has used a mobile phone when driving. I consider my radical approach would have an immediate effect. Social media would soon get the message out there after these  measures were imposed. Safety is no accident. There are too many road users ignoring the rules, to the detriment of the innocent pedestrian and road user.

I am afraid you are jousting at windmills. If they made the use of mobiles while driving into a capital offence there would stil be people prepared to take a chance!

On Friday evening while travelling to Crosby, i was in the inner lane of two lanes, when along side me i see a driver using a mobile and texting. My wife was in the car with me and i got her to video theis thoughtless law breaker, which she did. I drew his attention by tooting my horn, he turned and faced me, when he saw my wife videoing him he dropped his phone. He will now be facing a heavy fine and points on his licence. Why do these people think they are above the law. What is so important that he had to text while driving. He must now wish he hadn't.
