Gareth's Glorious Gala & Fete Games
During the last 4 years I have received a great deal of satisfaction knowing that Gareth’s Glorious Gala & Fete games have brought great pleasure to the young and old alike, and during that time they have raised many thousands of pounds for various charities, groups and other good causes.
They have been borrowed by Scouts & Guides, church and other youth groups, and the Police Association.
Ambulance, Fire station and local Lifeboat crew canteen funds have benefited from funds raised by my games. Significant money has been raised by the Freemasons, Allotment Associations, several schools, animal, homeless, housing, physical abuse, children’s charities and many other good causes across Norwich and further afield into Norfolk.
I have met many interesting people and have received so very many kind words in thanks, but alas it is time for me to withdraw my games and to destroy them.
Unfortunately my goodwill and generous nature has been taken advantage of by greedy and often unscrupulous people and I have now had enough of this abuse.
People claiming to want to borrow my games for fund raisers when in fact it was for private parties and that they did not want to pay the charges for hiring games from commercial party events companies; circa £85.00 per game per day, so they purposely lied to me to have my games free of charge whilst denying the opportunity of another good cause from using them …….. and on two occasions I was told that if I wanted my games back then I had better come and get them: once in Gorelston and once from Fakenham.
Three of my games were stolen from events and a member of the public even had mobile phone footage of one of the games being loaded by the perpetrators into their van and the registration number was clearly visible in the video, but the Police were not interested.
My games got damaged and by-and-large I accepted this as general wear & tear as this does happen, but not outright wanton vandalism which seemed to be always directed toward my “Hook the Bull” and Splat the Rat games.
Bean bags for the Splat the Rat and the balls for the giant table skittles along with the quoits and hoopla rings were often taken or not returned which I had to replace.
Enough is enough, so from today because of the actions and attitudes of a small inconsiderate minority the greater majority will not have the opportunity to borrow my games as I will no longer lend them out.
To those who have borrowed my games and did raise money for many good causes please accept my sincere wishes for your success in the future, but also accept my personal regrets that my games will no longer available.
Regards to all
Gareth.
