Sloes are disappearing fast from hedges as they are ripe already. Have 3 boxes in my freezer so if you want some you need to be quick. A couple of places we picked had already been harvested but we managed to get the higher ones.
i have no idea what a sloe is - never had one, never will. :)

cant you just add tonic to the gin, and coke/orange to the vodka? Saves faffing about under bushes and risking getting stung by nettles/wasps etc. :)

Wayne, you are sadly missing in your education. :-) :-) Sloe gin is one of the finer pleasures of life.
Especially homemade sloe gin of 2013 vintage 😊
can't say i have ever had gin either - normal, or with a shoe in it
