Hello
I too moved here some years ago.
The UEA, and surrounding area, is well served by buses so you are not limited to Earlham. It depends how long you want to travel. I used to live in Thorpe Hamlet, not far from the railway station, and buses to the hospital (from the station) took about 30 mins, about 5 mins on from UEA. That area is a mix of houses and flats, some Victorian and street parking, others more recent builds with parking.
Might be worth looking at bus routes and timetables. There are several companies, First and Konnect in particular.
The EDP is the daily local paper so their website can give you a flavour of the city/county. Norwich has some great pubs and Norfolk has many wonderful small breweries, so if you like real ale, you're in for a treat. There's an annual beer festival at the end of October.
Best wishes with house hunting and your move.
