Seeing a GP

My husband and I are currently living in Spain and thinking of returning to the UK (to Penistone, hopefully). We would like to know how long it takes to get an appointment with a GP; how much do prescriptions cost when you are over 70 years old; what are waiting lists like to see a consultant and any other information or advice you have about health services nowadays. It would be really helpful to us to have this information as we both have health problems. Many thanks.
