Many thanks to everybody who has contacted me offering support and additional information about this local (Totton) company. As promised I am posting this update in the hope that others will not suffer the way I have as a result of this gang's lack of professionalism.

Liberty Kitchens and Bathrooms (trading as Maven Care Limited) have now been reported to Hampshire Trading Standards for misrepresentation and it came as no surprise to learn that the trading standards team are already aware of them. I have also been referred to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service (CACS) people who thanked me for “vital information on how a trader is conducting their business” and offered guidance on how to proceed with this case. The unprecedented number of recent posts on Liberty Kitchens and Bathroom’s website and social media pages from their so-called ‘supporters’ (mostly friends, family and at least one employee!) saying how wonderful they are have not created the smoke screen that Paul Wareham and his fellow ‘directors’ had hoped so it should now be obvious to them that they cannot treat paying customers (£8,000+ in my case!) with such contempt.

Anyway - I’ll update you again when I know more but in the meantime, please advise your friends and family members to be very wary of this “take the money and run” company. Thanks.

PS: Some good news - I’ve just heard from one very relieved lady who was about to get Liberty Kitchens and Bathrooms to quote for some refurbishment work. She’s now taken her business to another local company recommended by a member of the neighbourhood forum. Result!
