The age old parking problem (Rounton Road)
Hi all,
Prior to lockdown (and even now) parking on Rounton Road can be a nightmare, at best the residents might find a space on the road but more often you are forced to park on alternative roads to the inconvenience and annoyance of the home owners who (as a result) have to then seek another place to park.
The main problem relates to those who use Rounton Road as a spare car park for their additional vehicles, and those who live on nearby roads but have more than 2 vehicles despite the majority of homes being 2 or 3 bedroom (I am aware some homeowners on Rounton Road do not own any vehicles and I still can't get a space).
Something needs to be done to make parking more accessible and also safer (people speed along the road despite being narrow) and so I was exploring the possibility of resident only parking or CPZ combined with speed restriction measures and or other options e.g electric car ports, introduce a one way system and paint bays to stop double parking (just an example).
Are their any other people who live on Rounton Road experiencing similar problems who would like to provide/contribute practical solutions as I was thinking of starting a petition, I'm conscious at least 75% of the residents would need to show an interest and the process is long but the situation has gradually worsened over the past 5 years at an alarming rate.
