Open Hanbury cinema - 0 replies

Andrew1969 Posted by Andrew1969 in Things to do and what's on in Bargoed on Mon Sep 5, 2016 4:01pm

It seems quite clear now that the planned Ocean cinema for Bargoed is not going to happen and too be honest it's too expensive by any means so I think that the reopening of the Hanbury cinema should be considered.                                           Many residents of the town support this and really want it to happen.        Bargoed really needs a cinema to for the for the town locality, like the one in Blackwood, something to attract the younger generation and somewhere for them to go instead of them having to travel out of their way or hanging about the streets and park drinking as there's nothing for them to do as Bargoed has very little to offer these days.                                Realistically I know that the Hanbury property needs a lot of work done to it with renervation and removal of the asbestos but it can be done even though it was rewarded as not viable when the one who has the Maxine in Blackwood took a look at it as he showed an interest in opening it. The outdoor cinema has proved very popular indeed so the reopening of the Hanbury cinema would be great. A cinema in Bargoed is ling overdue and it costs the same on the bus to Blackwood to spend £2:50 in the Maxine as it would to get in the Ocean if it came to Bargoef.
