Hi there,
I have a query regarding window restoration, and wondered if anyone in the local area could help me, or had any advice (or has had their sash windows repaired!)
I have recently bought a flat on Granville Park, which I think is in a conservation area.
The sash windows are old and not airtight; a bad paint job means some of them are stuck open by about half an inch.
I am looking to get them either restored, or replaced with identical like-for-like timber sash windows; but I don't know whether I need planning permission for this, as it's a flat in a conservation area?
Lewisham Council website says I need permission, but is this even for identical windows, or restoring the existing ones? Nothing would be altered aesthetically.
https://lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/planning/apply-for-planning-permission/windows/do-you-need-planning-permission-to-replace-windows
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks,
Abby

I experienced awful sexism and rude appalling behaviour from a resident from lawn terrace last night. He abused my friend and was condescending; ‘do you own this property’, ‘do you have kids’ , my friend does own her property but who speaks to people in such manners. It’s appalling that people think they can talk to people like that because they have a mortgage. Speaking to female like they are rubbish on the floor is the most mortifying and disgusting thing I’ve ever experienced after 5+ years I’ve lived in London. He had an awful smirk that was scary and threatening.
