Ancestors from Bottesford - 0 replies

My great great grandparents grandparents originated from Bottesford. Their names are Jane Hallam and Thomas Gildin. I believe they moved out of the area. However, I have managed to get as far back as the 1500's in Bottesford with some of the branches of my tree.

I have visited the delightful place and wandered through the graveyard and into the church. I was able to identify some gravestones as being my ancestors, which was exciting.

I think the main name I have been fortunate in connecting with is Lamb, but I have Gilden, Burgess, Rear, Hart, Stokes, Brazen and Taylor that have appeared.

If there is anybody who is looking at their tree and perhaps could give me any snippets I would love to hear from you.

When this terrible situation finishes I intend to make another trip to see if I can find anymore out

Could all on the Neighbourhood Watch list be advised if there is anyone in Bottesford who is infected. No name, no address, just so that we know there is a risk somewhere out there. If there is no infection within Bottesford or wider area then we can, maybe, relax a little and get out and do whatever life offers. If this is not possible, for legal reasons, then maybe we can join together and contact our MP for action.

Help with food shopping - 0 replies

I live in Bottesford with my partner who is 83 and has severe health problems including heart failure. I am almost 71. We are self isolating for our own sakes but as we have recently returned from a cruise, for the sakes of others in case we picked up anything during our travels.

We will very soon need to get in some food shopping and are looking for volunteers to help us. Not sure how this would work. Are there people who would do a full shop for us, or would people let us know when they are going shopping and who would be willing to pick up one or two items for us. We live at the Albert Street end of Chapel Street.

Our other issue would be payment for our items. As we have very little ready cash, we would need to pay directly into people’s banks.

please let me know if anybody can help and how best to deal with it.
