Hi,
My name is Jasmine Ong and I am a final year undergraduate student at the University of York studying Politics and International Relations. I am kindly requesting your participation in my dissertation that I am conducting titled:
“How the UK’s use of the First Past the Post system alienates the speaker’s electorate from the political system?”
The intention of my dissertation is to highlight how the current use of the First Past the Post system is leading to disengagement in the Speaker’s constituency. I am conducting research in Chorley and Buckingham as current and former speaker-held constituencies and also in South Ribble as a comparative constituency.
Participating in this study requires taking part in a short interview (maximum 30 minutes) via Zoom which will be scheduled at a time convenient for you between March 19th and April 3rd. I am available for interviews from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM every weekday during this period.
Participation is completely voluntary and you may withdraw from this study at any time up until the day of your interview. The study is anonymous and at no point will you be required to provide any identifying information.
If you are interested in taking part in this study please contact me at [email protected] with your preferred availability and I will be in contact with more information and a consent form.
If you have any questions or require further information about my research please feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Your participation in this research is greatly appreciated and will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of the First Past the Post system
Thank you for your time.
Jasmine Ong
