Chichester Humanists invitation to an online Zoom talk from 7pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday 24th January.

Andrew Edmondson will be discussing collective worship and alternative inclusive assemblies, following his recent bizarre experiences with West Sussex County Council.

In 2019, parents in Oxfordshire successfully sued their school in the High Court, forcing them to provide inclusive non-religious assemblies for their children.

Last December, West Sussex County Council banned their local Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) from even discussing collective worship and inclusive assemblies.

The time for action has come. If you would prefer quality inclusive assemblies for your children, or know parents who would, help is at hand. Humanists UK has produced guidance for parents.

Freedom of religion and freedom from religion is a human right that the UK has signed up to in the European Convention on Human Rights, which it also co-authored. Religious people enjoy this right; children and non-religious parents do not.

The current government wants to double the number of ‘opportunities’ for schools to force children to worship. Their laws, guidance, and advice from complicit local councils encourage schools to break international law.

If schools claim to support human rights, they must support them all. Parents can help them do this by requesting inclusive assemblies.

I have a beautiful deaf rescue cat called Albie, approx 1.5 years old, adopted from Shanghai, China (highly suspect he is a bred Khao Manee and abandoned because of his deafness).

He has had a hard life - FIP (wet/dry/neuro) cured several months ago, lived with cruel housemates and has had a very unsettled life in the past year. He is the absolute light of my life and I would never dream of giving him up, but I am becoming increasingly frustrated with his behaviour, and he is becoming increasingly frustrated with my busy schedule!! 

Looking to connect with someone with pets who may be having the same problem/wants some socialization for a new kitten/puppy or just a new friend to bond with over their fur baby! He is incredibly active and social, gets along great with dogs (his rescuer had a bunch) but he's a little rude to other cats initially (he argued with his last live in pal for an hour, then they were BFFL!), so maybe not a good fit for older or more timid kitties.

I would also welcome any training advice.

Please note that I returned from Shanghai 13th July and due to the stress of the international move and Albie's recovery from FIP, he is not up to date with his vaccinations (yet).

I'm trying to find out the name and address of the bakery I worked at briefly in 1979. I think it was at the top of North Street, possibly East Street. It wasn't Acres the bakers! 

Large room in pagham in a leafy cull de sac 5mins walk to the beach. my lodger has moved in with his partner. Covatis 19 has ment I have been able to decorate the entire bungalow. TV  washing machine  drive way parking. Looking for a professional or FE student. I am a part time teacher. The rest of the time make sculpture. Tidy and easy going person.  oh yes own fridge which is large and new.
