Hi,
I have been using lockdown to trace family trees and have found a record of the marriage of Sarah Maguire to George Edward Tolley at AllSaints Church in February 1889.I cannot find information about Sarah Maguire, beyond her birth in 1860 in Dublin, her residence at Foundry Street,Elton, near Bury, through to her marriage when her address was given as Higher Chatham Street and her father as Micheal Maguire.
I appreciate that Maguire,in whatever spelling,is a name of probably Irish origin, and realise that many Irish immigrants lived in poverty and squalor in the area in the nineteenth century, which may make records hard to find,so any assistance or guidance would be gratefully received.
regards,
Andyg

Hello my name is margaret Holmes does anyone remember me.at all, lived with my nan at grafton street early 1958to1960 I lived across the road from the grafton arms pup it was very interesting to say the least ,I watched all the drunks coming out late at night arguing and fighting it was very exciting to watch with my aunt who was 17 at the time her name was kitty lynch . I had a very good child hood we didnt have what the children have today withall the technology, but we made our own fun with the other children in the street, I sometimes served in the shop next to my nans house, I played with a little boy named Barry Eaton he would call for me to play marbles? I whent to burlington street primary school of Lloyd street north, I remember the games we played in the playground such as the farmers in his den, allso the wind the wind blows high a boy named jackie delainey whose name seemed to come up a lot, and my best friend was Julie barrows and Marion mulvey I played with in the street, it would be great to hear from anyone who might remember me.
