Is Killamarsh a good choice for my family? - 0 replies
Hi. We are looking at relocating back to the UK from abroad and want a place that would suit my family. We have 2 daughters who’ll start year 10 and year 6 so are keen to know about schools, transport to them and the city and any pros & cons of Kilamarsh. We have seen a property we really like but have to be sure before we commit to a trip over to view!
Thanks in advance.

Searching for war hero from Killamarsh - 0 replies
Hello fron the Netherlands, Venray, where on the CWGC Venray War Cementry a young man from Killamarsh is buried. He died while liberating my country from nazisme and paid for it with his life.
His name is Ernest Bentley (b. 1923) and he died on October 18, 1944 in Veulen Netherlands, just 21 years old. His parents were George E. And Lily Bentley Pashley.
Ernest had two brothers, George and Edwin, one older, one younger.
He was part of the 2nd Fife and Forfar Yeomanry and his service number is 7962855.
Local people have “adopted” the graves on the cemetery and we try to give all the men a face and or a voice so that their story is told and will never be forgotten. To give them a face I am searching for a photo and a little bit of personal info.
I understand it is a long time ago, but perhaps someone in this group remembers the family and is willing to help me with my search.
Thank you.

Looking for a John Michael Watkinson - 0 replies
Hi all,
This is a bit of a long shot but could prove to be very useful to someone I am trying to help. I am searching on their behalf for a man by the name of John Michael Watkinson, who would have been born either 1948 or 1949. He lived with his parents in Killamarsh in the mid-1960s and had a brother, who I believe may have been older than him. I do have the address in Killamarsh that they were living in at that time along with some other details about him, which I have held back to verify if the right person crops up. Thank you for reading this post and I welcome any comments in relation to it, which will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. Regards, Ali
Looking for a clock 'expert' last known in Killamarsh - 0 replies
Hi everyone. My name is Jim and although I am posting on the Killamarsh Forum page I actually live in Todwick. I am looking to trace a man I can only describe as a clock 'expert' from Killamarsh.
A few years ago, I had to move a grandfather clock from Ecclesfield to Todwick and used the services of a clock man from Killamarsh. He was excellent travelling to Ecclesfield and then to my home, having initially immobilised the clock and then re-setting it at my home.
I am due to move house again in the next few weeks and unfortunately, I cannot find any details of the man who provided the service for me years ago. All I can recall is that he had premises somewhere
in Killamarsh and was a youngish man about 30 years old. I have searched Killamarsh and cannot find any trace of him or his premises. My question is quite simple, Does anyone know who I am talking about and if you do, how can I contact him.
Many thanks for reading this. Jim
