I'm interested in partnering with a poultry breeder so that we increase production of fertilised eggs and chicks for export. I have a huge market base in Africa. [email protected]
Many years ago, when there was the Shildon Net Forum, I posted this from a website of mine: The dignity of labour, and a northern lad's false belief in London - Salut!
Republishing it yesterday sparked a bit of interest at Facebook, especially among people who also come from Shildon. I hope it may interest members of this forum too.
The reference to escape is tongue in cheek. I am perfectly happy and even proud of having grown up there and enjoy my infrequent returns. I was born down south but my parents, both Londoners, moved to Shildon when I was a baby. Dad, Ernie, was a well known local character owing to his devotion to the workingmen's clubs movement and Shildon AFC.
I lived there for most of my first 24-25 years before moving away in 1973, first to London, then Bristol, London again, France, Abu Dhabi and back to London and France. If you still buy a newspaper and get it delivered by my great pal Pete Sixsmith, say hello to him from me

Hi Jan thanks for letting me join.
Do you know of any local historians or family history groups in the Shildon area? trying to trace my lot.
Hi thank you for letting me join the Shildon forum.
I'am trying to trace my family history but not finding it easy. I have managed to trace some of them to the Shildon and Bishop Auckland areas. My Grandfather John Thomas Richardson lived at 8 Simpson Street Shildon and he died in 1933. Other family names are George H Westwood who married my aunt Lillian May Richardson and who had at least two children Gladys Marjorie and George Stanley. My other aunt Mary Ada Richardson married Arthur Ellis and later married Robert Sheperd
Apart from Simson Street, Oaklands, Hope Street, North Terrace and Brusselton House are also mentioned.I would to hear from any one who may have any information about any of these people or these places.
