My wife and I are looking to relocate to South Devon in the next 6 months.

There seems to be a lot of houses recently gone up for sale in the Shiphay area, is that just coincidence or is there a reason for the mad exodus. Any other suggestions for nice places to live in and around Torquay would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, thank you for letting us join your Forum.

Although we don’t live in Torquay, we’re retired and wondering what life is like in the area.  We’d like a warmer climate and a peaceful retirement.  We’re in our 70’s and hope we haven’t left it too late to move areas as we don’t have friends or relatives in Torquay.

Any suggestions or observations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone I’m just after a little advise and knowledge from anyone out there, I’m a single mum with a 10 year old boy and we’re looking to perhaps relocate to beautiful Torquay, we have never actually visited but looks like a wonderful and beautiful place to live, we currently live in Liverpool and although it’s a half decent place I don’t really want to bring my son up there! We wouldn’t have much savings I’m afraid so would need a small 2 bed to rent and find a job ASAP any information or help would be gratefully received thanks in advance x

Hi everybody....im new here so this is my first post.. Me my wife & 7 year old daughter are hoping to move to the Torquay area from Southampton before the end of August.. So much to think about but my main concern is finding a nice school for my daughter...We are hoping to rent to start off before buying.. Please can anyone help with some advice, my wife will be working at the Torbay Hospital & hopefully I will be moving my job with Waitrose to St Marychurch or Teignmouth.

Can anyone recommend primary schools in the areas above, my daughter will be starting year 3 in September.

Any advice greatfully received.
