WWII Prisoners of War: Banstead Wood Camp
As my daughter is currently learning about WWII, and my grandfather was a Japanese Prisoner of War we started to discuss what happened to Prisoners of War that were camped in England and were delighted to discover that there was a PoW camp in Banstead Woods.
I have just taken delivery of John Sweetman's "The Banstead Wood Camp", that sheds some light on the camp's Italian and German "guests", and whilst there is almost no evidence of the camp remaining will head down anyway (restrictions permitting). If anyone has any information that would help us locate some of what is left, or has any information they'd like to share it would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks
