Hello

My great grandma May Cass and great grandad George Henry Cass lived in Birkenshaw for most of their married lives.  Both are now buried in St Pauls Church grave yard.  They are listed as living in Lister's Yard in Birkenshaw.  Great Grandma Cass lived to the grand old age of 90 and was very well known.  She had many pen pals all over the world and had something to do with the Methodist Church. She was born May Knott and was born in Halifax Skircoate Green. Great Grandad George Cass was born in Sicklinghall, later lived in York and then in Shadwell Leeds a home for unruly boys.   He went to marry May Cass and was a miner but prior to that was in the Army.  He sadly died very young of TB which he probably contracted working in the mines.  They had three daughters,  Annie, Lilian and May.  May was my grandma.  She was born in the Mannigham area of Bradford and married my grandad Albert Smith who was born on South Parade in Bradford.  They later lived in Laisterdyke Latimer Street then Nottingham Street off Dick Lane.

Does anyone know of the family?  Lilian became Lilian Cliffe.  She lived on Birkenshaw Lane with Great Grandma Cass before their deaths.
