France to Corby glen

Friend needs to travel from France to UK and then by UK public transport thereafter. She has no car.
So far, she is considering Eurolines from France to London Victoria Bus Station and then needs to get to Corby Glen (or if necessary to Grantham), I assume National Express could help, but connecting times are very difficult.
I have assumed she will start the journey in the afternoon at Nantes and no doubt will be travelling overnight and arriving at London very early next morning.
Maybe a train connection may be better but need some information.
