BT vs Virgin broadband

Hi! I live in Moat Way in Swavesey and my broadband contract is expiring this month. Currently with BT 27Mbps to 40Mbps, no problems with signal, connection, no downtime at all. Virgin is offering 108-362 Mbps (5-8x faster) for a lower cost than my BT contract. I just want to know if people have any issues with Virgin. My friends in Northstowe said their Virgin broadband sometimes loses signal for up to 30 minutes intermittently, want to know of services in my street are the same or worse. Thank you!
