bt switchover to digital voice

hi
is there anyone out there that can help me. as im disabled please bear with me. my bt phone has now been transfered to digital voice whatever that means. since this my extensions have ceased to work with all but one phone which is upstairs. a neighbour has got that going but is stumped now. my wife also in her 80s has to get upstairs to answer it. if someone could fix this for me i would gladly pay but there are so many scam merchants out there im frightened to ring the big boys who want 50 quid just to talk to you so is anyone local that could help me.
