Today, 4th. Feb 2020 I visited the Richard Onslow for coffee late afternoon.I had put my mobile phone on the table in front of me. Two scruffy looking men approached the table and placed a hand written indescifrable message on top of my phone. As I am often abroad I immediately recognised this as a common theft attempt. The thief picks up the paper and along with it your phone.
They were thwarted when I quickly grabbed my phone after which they quickly left. I have never seen anything like this in Cranleigh and wanted to warn others to be on their guard.
