McPhail Avenue - off the HighStreet (Old Barratt Estate)

I hope this post finds you all well and someone will be able to help me, please!
Growing up I lived in the old Barrat estate off the high street on the left hand side, heading towards NewHouse. As a child (born 87) I can remember playing in this derelict old house (we called the haunted house) it was on the right hand side of the estate entrance as you drove in. It was knocked down and in its place new homes built and giving the street name McPhail Avenue.
I am hoping someone will be able to shed some light on the old building maybe if it had a name was apart of a other building or was just a family home.
I have great childhood memories of the places but sadly i don't no anything about the building other than we used to call it the haunted house
