Potentially Dangerous Scam Phone Call

This morning I received a call from a 'Private Number' on my mobile asking about repairing my Yale alarm handset unfortunately I replied to the caller that I did not own such a device. I am wondering if I am going to get a visit shortly ??? I reported the matter to Thames valley police but they only could advise to be vigilant. The phone company (EE) could not or did not want to give me the callers number so feeling a little exposed. Anyone had similar or anyone offer any advice ?
