Tell us your views on school immunisations service

Is your child at secondary school and been offered an NHS vaccination at school recently?

NHS England South East is keen to hear the views of young people, parents, carers and guards about the school-aged immunisation service (SAIS) and how it could improve.

The service provides a range of vaccines to young people in order to protect against serious preventable diseases. These include the HPV vaccine for protecting against HPV-related cancers, the MenACWY vaccine for preventing meningococcal diseases, and the 3 in 1 teenage booster for tetanus, diphtheria, and polio. Additionally, the catch-up programme offers the MMR vaccine to those who may have missed doses in the past.

Job vacancy: Youth Support Worker - 0 replies

OxfordshireYouth Posted by OxfordshireYouth in Job search in Banbury on Thu Sep 14, 2023 10:32am

Join our Oxfordshire Youth Banbury team!

Young People’s Supported Accommodation (YPSA) is part of the county-wide pathways for young people in need of safe accommodation and specialist support.

We offer a highly aspirational service that defines the young adults it works with by their resilience, determination and potential, not the difficulties they have overcome. It is a system-change model commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council and sees Oxfordshire Youth supporting 130 young people aged 18-24 in high-quality two, three and four-bedroom homes provided by our project partner Response. This vital service offers young people – many of whom are care leavers or unaccompanied asylum seekers – trauma-informed youth work, delivered in physiologically informed environments in which they can flourish.

Our ambition is for vulnerable young people, or young people at risk of homelessness to engage with a life-changing offer of activities and youth work support. Our youth workers offer consistent advice that allows them to grow in confidence and skill, in preparation for a move into independent living. YPSA residents are also equipped with techniques and psychological tools to help them manage their mental health, develop financial empowerment and learn how to mend, nurture and manage healthy relationships with the people that matter to them.

The impact of inequalities in Oxfordshire on young people’s life chances is unjust. We know early intervention and prevention powers positive change. Here’s how our Youth Support Workers making it happen…

Youth Support Workers seek out opportunities that inspire young people to step outside their comfort zone, helping them to develop new behaviours and skills that enable them to move into independent living. A youth work and trauma-informed approach is adopted by Youth Support Workers which means:

· Listening and being led by, the needs, ambitions, and assets of the young person

· Being an advocate for and champion of young people’s ability to acquire the skills needed to transition into a happy, positive, and healthy adulthood

· Being reliable, consistent, and aspirational role model. Coaches exercise clear and professional boundaries which creates safety, respect and trust and is paramount to success.

All Youth Support Workers receive high-quality training to ensure they feel confident and motivated to help build skills in emotional literacy, emotional regulation, de-escalating conflict, mental health first aid, safeguarding, physical wellbeing, financial empowerment, boundaries, creativity, and group skills.

To apply, please send a copy of your CV accompanied by a completed application form to our recruitment team. Visit our website, https://oxfordshireyouth.org/job/youth-support-worker/. Alternatively, let’s talk! Email us for more information as we could arrange a call!

DanatDimensions Posted by DanatDimensions in Job search in Banbury on Wed Jul 13, 2022 4:04pm

Dimensions is a pioneering, award-winning adult care organisation who support those with learning disabilities and/or autism throughout Oxfordshire - and across the UK - to live their best lives - the lives that they choose to live. Not only do we respectfully provide personal care, meal, and mobility assistance when required, we also empower and encourage those we support to lead richer, more fulfilling lives, and enjoy making long-lasting, happy memories. Our amazing teams do this by being actively and enthusiastically engaged in every aspect of the lives of the people who welcome us into their homes. So, at Dimensions, it's safe to say we're more than just support workers; we're part of the family, and we'd love for you to join ours!

The Role

  • Full and part-time hours available
  • £10.30 per hour
  • Generous colleague benefits
  • No experience or qualifications required!

We're looking to recruit 10 ambitious, compassionate, and resilient people who are sincere about care work to join our likeminded team in Banbury. Here, you'll work in partnership with your new colleagues to make a positive impact on the lives of those we support; helping them to realise their dreams, try new things, get out and about more, as well as safeguarding them from risk and harm, ensuring their environments are always comfortable and sanitary, and providing personal care, meal, and mobility assistance if/when required.

Yes, our support worker roles are way more exciting than your typical "9-5", plus there's no costly, time-consuming commutes to worry about either as you'll be working across two homes that are next door to one another. For these reasons, you'll find that a support worker job with us is more personally fulfilling and meaningful; you'll not only be supported and encouraged every day to help others and challenge society's stigma around care, you'll also be empowered to reach your full potential too. With us, you too can lead a richer, more fulfilling life!

For more information about the people we support in Banbury; our available shifts and for further details about the role - and of course, if you'd like to apply - please email a copy of your CV and Cover Letter to Dan Allsopp on [email protected]

Why Join Dimensions?

Our outstanding levels of bespoke care also extend to our colleagues. For four years in a row, we've received the accolade of being one of the UK's "Great Places to Work", and we go out of our way to show our teams that we truly value and care for them. We offer all colleagues fully-funded training so that they can become the best versions of themselves and amazing support workers; financial support in learning how to drive, we provide generous benefits (including discounted health and dental care, greater levels of flexibility so that we can all enjoy a decent work-life balance, employee recognition schemes, up to 35 days holiday a year, etc.), and on-going mentorship and coaching so that our aspirational colleagues get to where they want to be professionally. With us, anything is possible, and there are no glass ceilings! More importantly, we're a values-based employer; if you haven't a background in care, that's okay!
