Abbey Flooring in Tooting

About Abbey Flooring

At Abbey Flooring, we specialise in wooden floors throughout the London area. We know wood inside and out. We love working with it; shaping it, treating it and bringing its natural beauty to the surface. That’s why we only specialise in wooden floors – something we’ve learned to master over the last twenty years as a family-run business.

What we offer is simple – A focus on service, quality, longevity and value. They’re four values that have seen us recommended time and again.

No over-complications, no tricky questions or processes. We get results by using the right techniques, the latest technology and British products.

SERVICES

Installation

A relatively simple but specialised process. Abbey Flooring London always recommend clearing the floor area so it’s furniture-free. This is easier and quicker for the fitter to work, and becomes cheaper.

Sanding sealing and staining

Abbey Flooring London take pride in the finish – sanding, staining, waxing and oiling. It’s a vital and specialised part of creating a wooden floor you’ll love: preserving and protecting your investment from the beginning.

Maintenance

Hardwood floors are beautiful and practical. It’s probably why you’re considering having one installed or revitalised. Maintaining it is another service Abbey Flooring London specialise in and enjoy providing.

RANGE

Different hardwoods have different characteristics – anything from colour changes over time to slight shape changes when laid. Whether it’s solid floors, engineered floors or pre-finished floors, Abbey Flooring London will help you choose the perfect finish.

Solid floors

Using the same timber throughout, solid floors can be nailed or glued to the underside. Over a given width, they must be screwed and plugged on the face of the timber to prevent the boards cupping.

Engineered floors

More stability and greater sound proofing are just two of the advantages of this type of floor over a solid floor. Wide boards can be laid without fixing to the face of the timber, and if necessary, floated.

Pre-finished floors

Already sealed to your desired finish, these types of floor don’t require sanding. However, they’re slightly more effort to maintain than solid or engineered floors; being prone to scratches which are more noticeable on darker pre-finished timbers.
