Looking for someplace for driving practice

Back when I was learning to drive my mum took me to the old airfield at Kinnell for a safe place to practice without worrying about other cars. Sadly that’s long gone but I was wondering if people knew of any other places like that still around that I could use for getting someone some basic practice?
