Why is there a (chinook) helicopter flying around Broadstairs?

Didn’t see it directly, but I just heard a loud helicopter flying quite low. Minutes later somebody I know that lives nearby told me they had seen the same helicopter and sent me a picture. It’s a chinook, and it was right by the sea before apparently going back towards Broadstairs. Has anybody else seen it/have any idea why it is there?
