Just to say that yesterday evening on 29 September 2021, the Covid-19 virus had caused a small outbreak of Covid-19 at Tonbridge House Care Home, the care home is currently closed.  Sadly my dear mother, Mrs Barbara Ward, passed away, at 93 years, from the Covid-19 illness.  The care home had none reported Covid-19 cases, and the residents have been double vaccinated against Covid-19, and it is very sad as the care home is a lively and comfortable place for residents to spend their days.

For many years the Ward family lived in Fordwich as a family at Tancrey, and as children we loved the house, stables and the garden and fields at the bottom.  I know my mother did too and was often seen gardening near the daffodils on the field steps, and avoiding the wheel-horse, driven turtle power by my father, Jos (Consultant gynaecologist at Kent and Canterbury hospital, for many years).  Perhaps the people who live in Fordwich village and the many friends in the Canterbury area can spare a small prayer, that Barbara's peaceful day has arrived.  God bless.. daughter, Kate.
