Martin Smith's blacksmith's forge and house in Deeping St James in the 1870's.

I visited Deeping St James eight years ago looking for the possible forge where my great grandfather Martin Smith was a blacksmith in the 1870's but couldn't trace it. The obvious building was The Old Forge on Bridge Street but the owner assured me there was no Martin Smith in the history of his house. Can anyone help me with locating the forge or dwelling place I am searching for ?
