Homes for refugees
Is anyone interested in helping to form a community group to support Ukrainian refugees arriving in Hadleigh, and their hosts?
I (Cyndy) am offering places in my home and I’m sure other people in the town have, or are considering, doing the same. But the task is not simple and requires a whole community effort to provide refugees - and their hosts - with the help they need. This includes education, health, work, companionship and understanding.
The idea is to get people from specialist sectors together so they are accessible to refugees and their hosts. Really a support network.
If you are interested in joining a support team please contact Shauna on 07531 921831 or Cyndy on 07711 321907. This will not be an onerous task. It will not involve endless meetings. We aim to produce a help leaflet giving useful contact details and advice from various community sectors. We need experts who can be those points of contact. The group will enable both hosts and refugees to have contact so experiences can be shared.
