Any information about the Lewis family?
I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has a connection to my Lewis family. James Windsor Lewis was born in Risca, Monmouthshire in 1870, married Albertha Symons in Hemsworth in 1908 and died in 1924 in Hemsworth. They had 5 children, my mother Edna Bessie being the 3rd child. I do have all the information I need on their births and marriages. I have the 1911 census etc. but just wondered if any member has any connection to the family. Mum was 10 when her parents died, and she was adopted by her local Headmaster and wife, Charles and Ethel Gaunt. It would be wonderful if, for instance I could find any record of that school. Would anyone know if school records were stored from that period? Even just to find out how many Primary schools existed in Hemsworth in 1923/4 would be a big help. Thanks for reading this.
