The Northern Fringe have now been given the go ahead -- Ipswich needs to expand and will expand and I for one am all for it -- but with it must come the much needed infrastructure -- therefore that's where a NBP is much needed -- Ipswich should be called Gridlock City -- without a NBP just think of all the mayhem coming our way.

I reckon I'll have moved away or popped my clogs before the Northern Bypass happens! It's the most obvious, most sensible option for Ipswich and all those £££ spent on the disasterous Travel Ipswich scheme could have paid for it and solved a consideable amount of problems, rather than creating more.

I don't expect there to be any really serious consideration of the NBP unless the Orwell Bridge suffers some structural defects that require long repair or shipping lines start moving away from Felixstowe because bridge closures become too frequent. Local politicians pay lip service to the issue whenever there is serious disruption but nothing more. The Star is as bad, if not worse, it should be supporting much needed infrastructure for the area. Instead it just kisses the butt of local politicians, certain writers in particular.
