SOCIAL GROUPS / ACTIVITIES, ALL INTEREST AREAS!
I would like any information on social groups please, I have older people in mind (I work with over 65s getting over illness & often isolated), also my own mother who doesn't live far away & is increasingly socially retreating. I'm thinking of ANYTHING really; history groups, men's groups, women's groups, knitting groups, gentle walking groups, coffee groups, amateur art groups, book clubs, house groups, choirs, U3A, language groups. Most of these people still have VERY ACTIVE MINDS, so I'm not after groups aimed necessarily for the elderly (though if they are during the day, they probably will attract older people). As far as my mother is concerned, groups would need to be daytime, but once again, this is not a pre-requisite for others. Ideas and suggestions would be very gratefully received, thank you:)
