Has anyone seen or heard of the 1965 b/w film of redcar fishermen/pier /steelworks called Against the tide.
I have recently heard of a film made in redcar,on the cobles, and clay lane furnaces about safety issues of fishing, and it includes the old "proper" pier ballroom and wing rooms, the lifebout coxswain, and the gas safety team at clay lane.
I have a strong family interest in this film and my uncle is 93 and I would love to try and get a copy to show him .
my dad was Caretaker at riverdale school from its opening in1968 and was there for donkeys years (20+). Many a child who went there wanted to do the milk round with him and his trolley.
He also wrote poetry about redcar life and way back in the day about the old high street and redcar life, naming all the old redcar buisnesses.
please help with any info. mac
