Evidence Matters
Hi everyone
Have you ever wondered what information Government uses to make its decisions? Is there an issue where you don’t think politicians are using the best available evidence?
Evidence Week in Parliament is opened by people like you asking their MP about the evidence behind issues you’re passionate about. We do it live and online so you get an immediate answer from government advisers and experts, as well as your local MP.
You decide the topics under discussion, and you can ask about anything – we’ve had questions on energy, housing, pensions, transport and healthcare policymaking, parliamentary process and even allotment planning. The only restriction is that you should ask your MP to look at the evidence, not just tell them what you think they should do.
Email your MP now to ask your question at the online launch at 5pm on Monday 3 July: https://senseaboutscience.org/evidence-week/ask-for-evidence/
We want as many people as possible to get the answers they deserve, so please spread the word by sharing this message, e.g. by tweeting about it.
If you have anyquestions you can message me, Annie – I’m the Communities officer at Sense about Science, a charity that champions the public interest in evidence. We open Evidence Week with your questions to make sure Parliament uses the best available evidence to make the decisions that affect all our lives. I hope you will join us.
