A new community facility in Saddleworth
I am helping to create a new venue for community activities in Saddleworth. The location is a building called Holly Bank, which is at the bottom of Kinders Lane (Road End), in Greenfield.
Although its main role will be to provide a new headquarters, secure archives storage and study centre for members of the Saddleworth Historical Society, the centre will be open for the use and hire of community groups. A spacious and fully refurbished meeting room will be available for this purpose.
The building is in the middle of a big refurbishment and will not be ready for opening until at least mid-2024. In the meantime it would be really helpful if representatives of any group who think they might want to use the new centre were to indicate their interest by replying to this message, giving an outline of their needs.
This is an exciting project. I would welcome any views and suggestions to help shape it.
