the highways agency have disputed this but have failed to provide surveys that taken in the past, they now propose to upgrade to a smart motorway. i understand that widening of the access on and off the motorway is to be undertaken and the remainder of the bund along hathersham close removed and sound wall installed. no details of any works or schedule are known. the parish council were not informed nor any person l have spoken too, but it appears they held a question and answer at gatwick on 29 and 30sept and 6 and 7 oct at nutfield. if you travel on the south bound carriage way from hooley the first dwellings within 300 hundred metres of the motorway that are affected are hathersham close and smallfield in general, they ould have spent a couple of pound for stamps to us residents and the parish council, but they chose to keep the village in the dark. more noise? we don't know. i can only imagine that a few sheep and couple of cows turned up for the question and answer, because we wern't informed, we all might lose a bit more peace unless we act.
