I am new to this forum, however, l felt that l would like to share something that happened to my elderly friend who lives in Stubbington.

She was cold called on Monday from a company based in Poole offering to carry out work on her loft.... l'm not sure what!

They arrived on Tuesday with all the paperwork and asked her to sign it . They asked for £2,400 deposit which she gave them the total cost would be £7,000 to be paid on completion.

They then spent 4 hours in the loft telling her it was very damp. Also, informed that there was something wrong with her roof and they could put it right and it would cost £27,000. She agreed to have the work done as she was worried about the damp.

Today 28th September two guys,Tony and Jack arrived from a company called Pro Fix Access Titchfield arrived to erect scaffolding who have no connection to the original loft company. They had just been asked to erect the scaffold and they turned out to be my friends guardian angels.

They were immediately suspicious as they could see that the property is in perfect condition.

They started work and had put up a lot of scaffold then after speaking to my friend and hearing what she told them they became even more suspicious. 

They took all the scaffolding down, looked in the loft and found nothing wrong ,with no sign of damp and nothing wrong with the roof. They then waited for the men who were doing the "work" on the loft to arrive.

They told them that my friend no longer wanted the work done and waited for them to leave. 

Tony and Jack have been back to my friend this afternoon to check that she is alright.

What kind and decent people!! 

They have restored my faith in human nature.

I have tried to speak to their boss today (Alan Harris) to tell him how grateful we are to Tony and Jack for going the extra mile to help an elderly vulnerable lady. THANK YOU!! from the bottom of my heart to Tony and Jack of PRO FIX ACCESS TITCHFIELD!!

I cannot name the loft company as l have reported this matter to the police.
