Moving to the area

Hello, my wife and I (both young at heart pensioners) are relocating from 16 years abroad to hopefully live in the Woodville/Swadlincote area.
We have not picked a very good time to move have we?!
We are looking for suggestions of things we can do or join to help us settle quickly, whilst realising that currently there are many restrictions. We are keen walkers so are lucky with the local area, but probably need more to keep us sane. Normally we would enjoy cinema, theatre, concerts, canals and travel.
Any sensible suggestions gratefully received. I am ex RAF and before we went abroad we lived in Swindon.
We do know the area quite well as we have family locally.
